SMP After Hair Transplant
SMP After Hair Transplant
Had FUE or FUT and still see too much scalp? Scalp micropigmentation can add the appearance of density between transplanted hairs and can also camouflage suitable healed donor scars.
Delaware SMP works with clients who have had one or more hair transplants, including people who still feel their result looks thin or uneven after surgery.
Why Hair Transplants Can Still Look Thin
A transplant moves a limited number of follicles. Depending on donor supply, hair caliber, pattern of loss and how the grafts mature, some clients still see scalp between transplanted hairs. SMP does not add hair. It reduces the visual contrast between hair and scalp so the area can look denser.
SMP Can Help With
- Visible scalp between transplanted hairs
- Thin-looking crown or top after FUE
- Suitable healed FUE dot scars
- Suitable healed FUT linear scars
- Blending density without lowering the natural hairline
Timing Matters
Your transplant and any surgical scars need appropriate time to heal before SMP. The right timing depends on your procedure, healing and what area needs treatment.
Bring your transplant history to the consultation so we can plan around your existing grafts and scars rather than treating the scalp like a blank canvas.
Hair Transplant + SMP FAQ
Will SMP damage my transplanted hair?
SMP is placed superficially in the skin. Treatment planning still needs to respect the healing and condition of the transplanted area, which is why timing and consultation matter.
Can you treat both density and the donor scar?
Often, yes. The treatment plan can include density in the recipient area and scar camouflage in the donor area when both are appropriate for SMP.
